Nothing but a melody
72
Our love was nothing more but a melody... saddened by this there was nothing more we could do. The joy of laughter crumbled into little pieces dying to regain life but with are hearts filled with so much hate and anger it knew its time was up. It was a sad day...
Sure we had some good times, we traveled round the world learning new cultures with so many photos to share on the great wall of china. In the end that burning flame which lived within one another slowly became old and crippled and just like a harmony missing the chords to fulfill its unique sound this was nothing but a melody.
Her glossy hair looked dull, her eyes were filled with sorrow and no longer did her smile light up the room but was imprisoned and held in captivity in a place we once called home. Love had no existence here and just like the damaged record on repeat this love couldn't be fixed. Friends would come over giving us advice after advice still there was no remedy to our heartache. So many years of happiness gone down the grain .You see this was nothing but a melody.
The bed where we once made love became cold and quiet. She hesitated when I touched her, cringed when I stroked her hair. The only thing that kept us at bay was sleeping. The smiles on our face sparkled like innocent children playing on the swings screaming only to go higher and higher with blood rushing through their heads giving them a sugar rush. For this moment was the only moment love lived and prospered standing tall in the midst of the fogs so strong that no harsh words of reality could break it down love conquered all.
The smile soon became hidden as we woke up and went our separate ways, the sounds of birds chirping in the morning became vacant as the sun beamed down on us desperately hoping to push the fog away that was covering our home. There was nothing more left to say, her chest rubbed against mine as we hugged for the very last time . Reluctant to let go the sent of her perfume tingled down my spine and gave me flash backs of when we first met. ‘ Those were the good old days’ I sighed.
A part of me did not want her to leave and she felt the same way as her hands were wrapped so tight around mine. As the damaged record stop playing so did our love and she left through the doors. I tried so hard to put the record back on hoping for one last try. The universe was rooting for me blood was rushing through my veins I’d never felt so alive this could be the day our burning flame comes back, but as she turned back with the car raring to go and the rain roaring its showers she cried out ' this was nothing but a melody'.

Nice read sir. Sounds like something I went through about a year ago. Such a struggle. So much heartache and pain.
If you love hauntingly beautiful deep melodies, click here.
This is really powerful stuff. Sorry I didn't comment sooner, my Internet has been acting up. =-/
I suppose all things - good and bad - must come to an end somehow. Thanks for sharing.
Good piece, glad you pointed me to it.
We've all been there unfortunately, but it does seem to be less significant when life takes you forward again.
Thanks Eman,
John

Wow good stuff Eman! Really interesting stories you have here. I'm happy to read them. Thanks K.
Beautiful writing
The pain of true love, that is so sad when it goes bad. I once read that if it doesn't hurt when love goes bad, he or she is probably something you never really loved. Good job, keep on writing. :)
beautiful, and it must have been true love, but it is reality --- people changed, then it hurts, I experienced losing somebody and I feel for people experiencing this one, keep on writing, Maita
